Summary

This work presents result of final part of the Bachelor Study Program on Geography - Geoinformatics at the Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc (UP).

The main aim of the bachelor thesis was a creation of fully function map server for needs of the city Náměšť nad Oslavou. The aim has been successfull implemated and now it is possible to use its services as a intranet version on the server of the office in Náměšť nad Oslavou. Created internet application provides basicly functions for working with map. This contains not only functions for browsing (zoom in, zoom out, pan), but function for questioning too. Whole aplication is optimized for open source browser Mozilla or Mozilla Firefox. Because of the fact, that the most users use browser Internet Explorer, optimalization were done for this browser too.

For realization of this bachelor thesis open source software was used. Important part of this work is maual for working with Minnesota Map Server. It contains basicly information about instalation of all necessary softwares and about creating the most important file, mapfile. Working with PHP mapscript is shown here only wery shortly. It isn´t possible to show the whole problems in this bachelor thesis, because this one is very complicated and very large. This part shows only one way how to build this apliacation.

Also the CD-R was created with all source codes. The CD contains readme file with description of CD structure. On the CD are placed all instalation files of all necessary softwares for fully function of the aplication. All the targets were realized.
