Summary

Title of the thesis: Integration of municipality plans of micro-region Hranicko for physical-geography evaluation of development activities

This diploma thesis presents results of final part of the Diploma Study (Applied Geoinformatics) at the Faculty of Science, Palacky University in Olomouc (UP).

The main aim of the diploma thesis was creation of seamless urban plan and its use for physical-geography evaluation of development activities. First step was to create seamless urban plan. It consist of collecting, scanning, digitizing, converting and merging 31 municipality plans (both graphic and attributes). This part was highly time consuming and Autodesk and ESRI software product were used.

Greatest disadvantages of typical municipality plan (disunity, illegility and paper release) were removed by this process. Main result of this part of thesis is dataset (60 layers in shp format) containing seamless urban plan Hranicko micro region in 1 : 5 000 scale.

The conflict is defined as a collision of natural preconditions and human activities (both existing and planned). Using several methodologies for landscape potential evaluation was developed “conflict analysis” for physical-geography evaluation of development activities. This analysis consists of GIS method “overlay” searching places where natural preconditions and human activities are in collision.

A plenty of conflicts was found out in the Micro-region Hranicko by „conflict analysis“. Some of them are very serious (e. g. flooding areas, landslide areas, protected areas of water sources), other are not so serious (protected areas of forest, critical slope or high soil quality). Results of „conflict analysis“ are shown in appendix 1 – 10 (also placed on DVD in pdf format). Appendix 16 (DVD) contains project in Kristyna GIS viewer with seamless urban plan and with all outputs of “conflict analysis”.

For purpose of the diploma thesis licensed software products ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 and Autodesk Map 3D 2005 were used. Also the Kristyna GIS viewer which is freeware was used for distributing of outputs from GIS applications.

Data and results of analysis were used for realization of purpose of INNOREF project (sub project Stra.S.S.E.) solved on department of Geoinformatics at the Palacky University.

A website about this thesis and placed on the server of Department of Geoinformatics UP. Also the DVD was created with all outputs and with all used data. The DVD contains readme file with description of DVD structure.

All the aims were realized.
